An Ounce of Prevention: "A Warning About Interfaith Marriages"

I find rabbis to be extraordinary teachers and so when I watched this video on the statistics surrounding the fact 45 percent of marriages are interfaith *and* most of them end in divorce (which might be a big part of the reason why approximately half of all marriages end in divorce),  I reflected on the fact that "being equally yoked" is about a lot more than two people who claim to be Christian or Jewish or Muslim or Buddhist or otherwise. It's about two people honoring the same set of values.

If you're in a relationship with someone who does not hold the same standards as you do, don't assume that because they call themselves "a believer" or "a disciple" (John 17), that it must automatically be true. Watch. The. Fruit. (Matthew 12:33, Colossians 3:12-17). Remember "God made husbands and wives to become one body and one spirit for his purpose—so they would have children who are true to God." (Malachi 2:15-NCV)

As for the video, it won't post for some reason (crickets) so if you want to check it out (it's only three-minutes), you can do so by clicking on this link:
