An Ounce of Prevention: (VIDEO) 'A Testimony on Marriage, Affairs, Divorce and Remarriage'

God can forgive anything (ANYTHING)...

It does have a contingency, though: "For if you forgive people their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses." (Matthew 6:14-15-AMP)

And that's actually what makes me very nervous for those who divorce. When you can't forgive someone, it's pretty presumptuous to assume that you should and even will be forgiven anyway. A hard heart is...dangerous (Proverbs 28:14) and according to Christ, the reason why divorce was permitted in the first place (Matthew 19:1-12). That's definitely something to think about...

Anyway, I dig this couple's testimony because they speak so openly about their journey (I Timothy 4:14-16-AMP) and they confirm what has been my personal belief for a very long time. If some of us were bolder (BOLDER) about what the Word says about marriage and divorce, it could spare a lot of pain...years worth...down the pike. Divorce is not a solution. It is something that tends to cause more problems, actually.

Kudos to you, Jeff and Carole. Really!

If you know a couple considering/contemplating divorce, it is an act of love to share this with them. On the front end.

Luxuriant,

SRW
